It is still valid, but as you are using WAMPServer 3 there is now a simpler method that has been created for you.

First, upgrade WAMPServer to WAMPServer 3.0.8 using this ADDON Download this ADDON

This will not change anything other than the WAMPServer internal code. SO it will not change your Apache/MySQ/PHP versions.

Then in this post you will find instructions on how to create a Virtual Host the easy way Go to the second post in the thread titles Wampserver 3 - Create or add a VirtualHost

(I must ask, I'm scared to mess with this). My Wamp folder is C:/Wamp64/.. Now, this ADDON by default want to create new folder c:\wamp. Should I allow it or chose my C:/Wamp64/. Additionally when I chose my folder C:/Wamp64/ it automatically want to create C:/Wamp64/wamp.


So where should I install this ADDON:
C:/Wamp64/
C:/Wamp64/wamp
C:/wamp/
?

You have to type C:/Wamp64/ in the form.
There is a small problem with InnoSetup that I have not yet been able to resolve regarding the choice of the installation folder. That's why, for some addons, I made two versions, one for 32 bit and one for 64 bit, although it's the same addon.

I want to upgrade PHP, not asking how to create VitrualHost.

Can I install newest wampserver3_x64_addon_php7.1.5 by installation wizard or need to special prepare existing WAMP?
