I everybody!
I'm Matteo from Italy. I'm a web designer and I'm trying to learn more about editing wordpress themes.

I've got Windows 10 64 bit installed and after the last big update (Creators Update) I get an error where I have not found any information online.
I specify that I also tried to do a fresh installation of Windows after the update because in the past I had other problems.
However, installation is ok but when I launch Wamp, first a flashing CMD command promps appears, and then a pop-up window opens, saying
"https.exe - application error, cannot start the application correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application"

If I click ok, Wamp icon is red then orage and green, everything seems to be OK! localhost too.

I don't know but maybe Windows last update caused this issue.

Hi Matteo,

I am not sure I understood your comments about what you do/did after Windows did the Creators Update?

Are you saying that once the update was installed you then Re-installed Windows?

But surely that will have removed the Windows update!!!

And likely as not also removed the Apache and MYSQL services that WAMPServer installs.

Did you re-install WAMPServer after you re-installed Windows?

I have the same issue. Installed the Windows 10 Creators update and got the same error message as above. Re-installed Windows and the problem goes away, but as soon as I update to the Creators Update, the error appears again.

I did find out that if you run wampserver in compatibility mode it runs fine. Looks like something in the update is breaking the program.

Hi,

Wampserver 3.0.8 works very well, without error, with Windows 10 1703 (15063.13) ie. Creators Update

- Verify that all VC++ packages are installed and with the latest versions.
To do this, use the tool:
Check VC++ packages installed
And you can find all packages on [wampserver.aviatechno.net] in the Visual C ++ Redistributable Packages section.

-Check with the Service Manager that services wampapache (or wampapache64), wampmysqld (or wampmysqld64) still exist.

These services can be created by the Wampmanager menus.
Left-Click Wampmanager tray icon -> Apache -> Service administration -> Install service

do the same for MySQL and MariaDB.

Then Left-Click Wampmanager tray icon -> Start all services.

I have met this problem . But I find the way to solve this problem.

You can find your system disk root folder , there is a file called "msdia80.dll"

See the following link:

[support.microsoft.com]

Try it. you will solve your problem.

I installed all packages requested

I checked and they are still here

If I do this, after clicking on Install service it opens a CMD window telling:
Your port 80 is actually used by :

Server: Apache/2.4.23 (Win64) PHP/5.6.25

Cannot install the Apache service, please stop this application and try again.

Anyway, the error is still here bet Wamp Service runs very well. This is frustrating

Hi,

The Creators update may have caused some problems with the existing wampapache or wampmysqld services.
So we will remove these old services to recreate them with the new versions of Windows.

- Left-click Wampmanager tray icon -> Stop All Services
- Left-click Wampmanager tray icon -> Apache -> Service administration -> Remove service
- Left-click Wampmanager tray icon -> MySQL -> Service administration -> Remove service
- Left-Click Wampmanager tray icon -> Apache -> Service administration -> Install service
- Left-Click Wampmanager tray icon -> MySQL -> Service administration -> Install service
- Left-click Wampmanager tray icon -> Start All Services
