I have a clean install of 3.0.6 on Windows Server 2012R2
I have inbound ports opened for 80, 8080, and 443
I can access phpmyadmin, wamp icon is green (with online), and I can access WAMP home page locally

My question is: Is there an up to date walkthrough of going from a fresh install to an online site? If so I'll start there. I've looked at 40 or so walkthroughs now and they all have old information (and aren't getting me online).

Otherwise, how do I get this damned thing to be accessible over the internet? An actual live site?

I just keep getting this in the log file "AH01630: client denied by server configuration: C:/wamp64/www/"

I did at one point just completely open up access to the entire directory and got an error about htaccess not allowed, but still wouldn't show any sort of site online.

Do you have a Virtual Host defined for the site that you want to allow access to from the internet?

I have like 6 web servers set up with previous versions of WAMP, but this new stuff is a pain in the butt.

It is NOT a new stuff.
VirtualHost are used by all hosts on the planet running Apache, from Apache version 1.x

I have 10+ web servers running WAMP with wordpress on WAMP 2.5 with none of these issues and no use of virtual hosts.

So HAVING to use virtual hosts is new stuff in this case.

If you are using WAMPServer 3, you are already using Virtyal Hosts.

If you just want to give access to a site placed in the \wamp\www folder then all you need to do is:

Using the wampmanager menus,

- left click wampmanager->Apache->httpd-vhosts.conf (click on httpd-vhosts.conf)

- amend the `Require local` to `Require all granted`

Restart Apache
- wampmanager->Apache->service Administration->Restart Service



However, if you had become familiar with Apache, you could have had ONE instance of WAMPServer(Apache) running on one server, with 11 Named Virtual Hosts, assuming all the sites run on the same PHP and MYSQL versions.

I have them split up mostly to do with storage considerations.

But yes, I already made that change via adding the online/offline option and just putting it online which make that change for you.

Still no luck.

No you didn't

Once a Virtual Host is active the parameters in the httpd-vhosts.conf file for the Virtual Host take preference over those in the httpd.conf file.

The `Put Online/Put Offline` menu was made a selectable option (turned OFF by default) for this reason. It has no real use in WAMPServer 3 anymore.

If you are going to ignore the advice given in good faith, we will just stop giving you any more help

Ohh I missed the vhosts part of that.

Well, in that case, every time I try to get to the conf files from the wampmanager it says it can't find the files.

That may be another underlying problem, but I'll try to find the vhosts.conf file and edit that appropriately.

Ok, got it all sorted out.

I wonder how many of these tutorials I read and just somehow missed the -vhosts part of the conf file changes.

I feel super dense right now.
