If the WampServer icon is green:

8 - not green

9 - Do you have access to phpMyAdmin? No

10 - If you refer to an error message, please include the EXACT wording of the error in your post
11 - Kaspersky
12 - C:\wamp\)
13 - N/A

This is what I get when I check the state of services. I have wamp 32bit, I have gone through the troubleshooting guide and followed all tips there. Deleted other servers, checked with my firewall, downloaded all C++ redis, changed text in the php file.

State of services:

The service 'wampapache' is NOT started
EXIT error code:1066
Help message for error code 1066 is:
The service has returned a service-specific error code.

The service 'wampmysqld' is started

The service 'dnscache' is started

WampServer (Apache, PHP and MySQL) will not function properly if any service
'wampapache'
'wampmysqld'
'dnscache'
is not started.

Hi,

Either something has already captured TCP Port 80 (SKYPE/IIS/something else)

Or you did not allow Apache access through your firewall when asked?

Any Idea which one it might be?

Hello,

thanks for the reply.

For Skype I unchecked the box that says "Use ports 80 and 443 as an alternative."

For IIS I completely removed all folders and files and uninstalled all related parts through the Control Panel.

For Apache I have gone through Kaspersky and allowed all that I know of related to wamp or apache.

When clicking on the trey icon, then hovering over Apache, then Service administration, then Install Service I get the following message:

Your port 80 is actually used by :

Server: Microsoft-HTTPAPI/2.0

Cannot insall the Apache service, please stop this application and try again.

Press Enter to exit...

Is there a way to switch port 80 from the above to Apache?

Thanks again.

OK so with your focus on port 80 I did a little searching online and found that the Web Service Deployment Agent Service (a remnant of IIS?) was using port 80. I disabled it and restarted wamp and now it's green!

I simply disabled the service through the Task Manager under services.

Now I just need to figure out why my javascript still isn't showing up lol

Thank you so much for your help.

Hello,

right I took the steps in both of those points number 03 and 08. But for some reason the Web Deployment Agent Service was still using port 80 even though I had already removed all of the IIS files and components from my computer.

Stopping the Web Deployment Agent Service opened up port 80 for Apache to use and solving my issue.

Hi

You can uninstll that as well as it serves no purpose if IIS is not there
