KERNEL32.dll error on installing mysqld service.

Upon attempting to install Wampserver 3 on Server 2008 I get an error message;

The procedure entrypoint TryacquireSRWLockexclusive could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

I have tried removing the services and renaming the folder, uninstalling & reinstalling. All the VC versions are up to date. Does anybody know why this is happening? Is it a mysql bug?

Can you tell us what version of Windows Server 2008 please?

Windows 2008 32 bit. (not release 2) If it is of any relevance it's a VM on Virtualbox 5

Hi,

VC 10, VC11, VC13 and VC14 packages are supported by Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 as mentionned by Microsoft. I'm afraid that your problem is because your Windows Server 2008 is not R2 SP1.
