WampServer

Hello, my Wampserver Icon became orange [Apache service not running] since last 2 weeks. I have followed different suggestions through online but failed to solve the problem.

Could not execute menu item (internal error) [Exception] could not service....... not started.
""

What I did to solve the issues?
i) Uninstall / Install wampserver different times.
ii) Change httpd.conf file listen 8080 instead of 80.
iii) Change Windows IIS Server Ports.
iv) Apache Service Remove / Install.
v) Restart All Services.
vi) Restart Computer.
vii) Newly download wampserver 2.5 & installed.
viii) Changed Skype port.
ix) Install Visual C++ Redist. 2013.

Following different Tuts & Expert Suggestions I have tried all the above but result is nothing.


My OS version is : Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit.
Wampserver : 2.5
Apache : 2.4.9

Now, pls. suggest me how can I get the Icon Green instead of Orange which will be highly appreciated.

An orange icon mean that one of the services, either Apache or MySQL has not started.



First find out which service has not started.
Using the wampmanager menus do :-

wampmananager -> Apache -> Service
If the Start/Resume Service menu item is Green and clickable, then Apache has not started


Then do

wampmananager -> MySQL -> Service
If the Start/Resume Service menu item is Green and clickable, then MySQL has not started

Now let us know which service has not started.

Thank you very much for your kind response, yes, Apache Service is not running, Mysql Service is ok, still I cannot start the Apache Service pls. help if you have any solution.

So now look at the windows Event Viewer

To launch this do :

Windows Key + R
Enter eventvwr.exe
Press the OK button


Look for messages from Apache and tell us what you se

Yes, according to ur advice I checked the error msg through event viewer & found the following :

Event ID : 7026
Source : Service Control Manager
Details :
The wampapache64 service terminated with the following service-specific error:
Incorrect function.

Does that mean you have solved the problem

Not really still the icon is ORANGE.

It shows the above error while viewing Event Log.

The following error code shows in ApacheError.log file :

BUT DID YOU INSTALL ALL REQUIRED RUNTIMES?

Yes, I already followed point 20, reinstalled all VC redist......, uninstalled wampserver, restart pc & again installed wampserver, but got no solutions...... really disappointed.

Maybe you would like to try a Team Viewer Session so I can have a proper look.

If this is Ok with you, I will be available 20:30 UTC for a couple of hours.

Pls. check your Private Message.....

Go to task manager and stop "Windows Process Activation Service" or "WAS". Then restart WAMP's services. I'm not sure what disabling this service would do as a side-effect though. I haven't noticed any problems so far.

Thank you so much zinzara, RiggsFolly & others who help me since long to solve the issue. The problem is solved. I just disabled Antivirus (E Scan). I feel so happy right now..................

You should not need to disable you AntiVirus. But you will need to work out how to allow Apache to be accessed.

When you first start Apache (httpd.exe) the virus checker should ask if it is allowed access, and you should say YES
