Im using the latest version of wamp..
so I was creating mybb forum, and there's no email being send to me.
I've tried smtp too, but it won't work.. I tried everything, here are the errors that i get.

"MyBB was unable to send the email using the PHP mail() function."

"The SMTP server does not support any of the AUTH methods that MyBB supports"

I've created a thread in mybb forum, but they said it wasn't mybb's fault.. they told me to ask wamp :/

This is because windows does not have a mail server installed by default.

The PHP mail() function just passes a mail to the local mail server, it does not actually do the mailing itself.

I am not familiar with mybb but if it can only use the PHP mail() function then you will need to install a mail server. I personally use hMailServer but that does involve a little experience with mail servers or some trial and error.

Alternatively if mybb can be configured to use phpMailer that may also be an option.
