Hi,

After performing a fresh installation of WAMPServer 3 and the necessary C++ files, i was unable to login via phpMyAdmin (with root and blank password) and start MySQL service (MySQL -> service administration -> start service) even after reinstalling the services and wamp. I wasn't able to login via phpMyAdmin. Icon is orange

1- Windows 10 education version 1607 (64 bit) (running via boot camp if it matters)
2- WampServer 3.0.6 64 bit
3- Apache v 2.4.23
4- php v 5.6.25
5-mysql v 5.7.14
6- WampServer icon is orange

php error log and apache access log is empty.

Apache error log gave me this:

[mpm_winnt:notice] [pid 1980:tid 616] AH00422: Parent: Received shutdown signal -- Shutting down the server.
[mpm_winnt:notice] [pid 6296:tid 448] AH00364: Child: All worker threads have exited.

On the MySQL.log file these were the error logs:

Hi

Looks like the install did not complete correctly.

Did you install WAMPServer "As Administrator"????

If not, Uninstall this WAMPServer, manually delete the \wamp folder

Then reinstall properly, you must launch the install exe use "Run as Administrator"

Hi,

> May I know which other information am i lacking of?
Put on your glasses or go to an ophthalmologist!
What is the content of : READ (and answer) BEFORE YOU ASK A QUESTION

--------------------------------------------------------------
Before asking a question, please read Toubleshooting Tips

And then if you are using WAMPServer3 also read WAMPServer 3 All you need to know

When you ask a question, please ensure you start your question with the answers to ALL these 13 questions.

1 - Windows version used (Specify version number AND whether 32 or 64 bit)
2 - Version WampServer (Specify version number AND whether 32 or 64 bit)
3 - Apache Version
4 - PHP Version
5 - MySQL Version
6 - What color is the WampServer icon (in the notification area of the taskbar)

When all goes well it should be green, but it may be red or orange.

If the WampServer icon is NOT GREEN please ensure you have looked at these files :-
a - Apache error log
-- ( wampmanager -> Apache -> Apache error log )
-- ( wampmanager -> Apache -> Apache access log )
b - MySQL error log ( wampmanager -> MySQL -> MySQL log )
c - PHP error log ( wampmanager -> PHP -> PHP error log )

Depending on the error, one or all of the above may be empty so also look at
d - The windows event viewer
--- Windows Key + R to launch the run dialog then enter eventvwr.exe and press the OK button
--- - On the left side of the windows click 'Windows Logs -> Applications'
--- - Look for the names 'Apache Service' or 'MySQL' in the Source column which have a error symbol in the first column.

If you find any errors that you cannot fix for yourself please post the COMPLETE EXACT error message in your question.

7 - In the file c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts, what are the active lines with the name [localhost] in them?
* Active means no # at the beginning of the line.

If the WampServer icon is green:

8 - Do you have access to localhost (Homepage WampServer)?
9 - Do you have access to phpMyAdmin?

10 - If you refer to an error message, please include the EXACT wording of the error in your post
11 - If you use an Antivirus and / or Firewall, please include the names of these
12 - What is the full path to the installation of WampServer (eg D:\wamp\)
13 - If you have one or more Virtual Hosts defined, please show their definition(s)
-----------------------------------------------------

At a minimum, there are thirteen responses to be given.

Hi,

> i made the edits and my first post with the 13 responses given.
Except that nothing indicates that there are changes on a post when you log on the forum.
Moreover, instead of simply reading a detailed reply, one must read a message again; You do not facilitate the task of those who would like to help you.

And, the main information is almost hidden:
- You are using Windows 10 on a Mac with BootCamp.
I do not know if Wampserver (or any other WAMP) works correctly on a Mac with BootCamp.
Why do not you use a MAMP server directly

> 7- No active lines with localhost in the hosts file
In the file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts there must be two lines :
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

Apache service is correctly started.
MySQL service is not started.

It seems that MySQL did not install correctly with a problem creating the data folder.

- 1 - Exit Wampmanager
- 2 - Delete the folder wamp/bin/mysql/mysql5.7.14/data/
- 3 - Open a command windows - as an administrator - on the folder wamp/bin/mysql/mysql5.7.14/bin/
- 4 - Type the command :
mysqld.exe --initialize-insecure
A new data forlder should be created within 30 sec.

Hi

Apparently i tried installing on my older machine with using bootcamp on a Windows 7 OS, i could get the WampServer running green icon on first launch. I am quite forced to make use of WampServer instead of using Mamp though.

I added the 2 lines to my hosts files and also run the command via command prompt, but still getting the error results.

Hi,

Yes i did except for the Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows as i am running on Win 10 (and there isn't any installation for Win 10). I even reinstalled my entire bootcamp partition and reinstall all the VC++ packages needed.

For anybody in the future with this same issue (i.e. windows 10 , mac, bootcamp )

If MySQL won't start and c:\wamp64\logs\mysql.log says:

[ERROR] InnoDB: Header page consists of zero bytes in datafile: .\ibdata1, Space ID:0, Flags: 0. Please refer to [dev.mysql.com] for how to resolve the issue.
[ERROR] InnoDB: Corrupted page [page id: space=0, page number=0] of datafile '.\ibdata1' could not be found in the doublewrite buffer.
[ERROR] InnoDB: Plugin initialization aborted with error Data structure corruption
[ERROR] Plugin 'InnoDB' init function returned error.
[ERROR] Plugin 'InnoDB' registration as a STORAGE ENGINE failed.
[ERROR] Failed to initialize plugins.
[ERROR] Aborting

This is what worked for me:

1) Run the installer and work through any issues with port 80 (skype, iis, etc ) and get apache working.

2) Follow the instructions in "c:\wamp64\read_after_install-english.txt" and install the entire microsoft mess. ( both x86 and x64 ) ( go to the forum and read the post READ BEFORE YOU ASK A QUESTION )

Also make sure "127.0.0.1 localhost" is defined in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

3) Uninstall wampserver from control panel.

4) Right click and run as administrator the installer again and if the wampserver icon is orange and mysql is not running:

5)
- Exit Wampmanager
- Open a cmd prompt as administrator and cd to c:\wamp64\bin\mysql\mysql5.7.##
- Delete the "data" folder
- cd to c:\wamp64\bin\mysql\mysql5.7.##\bin
- Type the command :
mysqld.exe --initialize-insecure
A new data folder should be created within 30 sec.

6) restart wampserver and it should be green.
