WampServer

Hello everybody,


I need to install WAMP 3 for a commercial program we bought but when I try to install it I get the message,
"this program does not support the version of windows your computer is running"

It's windows server 2003.
I have downloaded and installed successfuly all the MSVC Redistributable packages needed according to this
[forum.wampserver.com] .

So I guess there is no compatability at all with windows server 2003?
I was looking for software requirements but I can't find any.

As far as I am aware, Windows Server 2003 will not Install/Run all the required MSVC Runtime that are needed by WAMPServer 3

This is a Microsoft limitation and nothing to do with WAMPServer/Apache etc.

Either use Windows Server 2008 or above or you will have to make do with WAMPServer 2.4 I believe.

so now I tried on windows server 2008, installed all the VC needed as in the pic here

I had already disabled IIS, had admin rights and no skype on the machine but I got an error while installing.

tryAcquireSRWLockExclusive not in KERNEL32.dll, something like that.

The wamp icon is orange now so I guess the installation wasnt successful.
Any idea?

Did you install WAMPServer from an Admin account?

I have read carefully the before you start page because I have no experience with open source technologies and didn't want to mess anything with the system.

anyway,
after a bit of googling I found other members with the same problem and no solution, maybe it's the OS again,
I am using 2008 standard, not the R2.
