Im using Windows XP so had to install Wamp 2.4 until I get new PC.

I need to install a proper version of php_mcrypt.dll. The one that I found online gives an error:

php_mycrypt module compiled with api 2009525
php compiled with 2010626

[I may be slightly wrong with exact numbers but 2009 and 2010 are correct]. Where do I find the appropriate version of php_mcrypt for Wamp 2.4?

I am fairly sure that in WAMPServer 2.4 (PHP 5.4.16) mcrypt is built into the PHP core, therefore you do not need to install any additional extensions.

So try removing the extension you have added, then run localhost and click the phpinfo() link.

You should see that mcrypt as a loaded extension.
