Should 127.0.0.1 be giving me a forbidden message?

So I recently set up Wamp, and I'm able to get the WampServer page to load when I enter in: localhost

However, if I enter 127.0.0.1, it gives me the following error: "Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server." Is this default/expected behavior? If it is not expected behavior, can anyone help me fix it?

Hi,

What version of WAMPServer did you install. The latest version of WAMPServer3.0.5

Install WAMPServer3.0.4 and then apply update 3.0.5

Hi,

May be a problem with your firewall or anti-virus. 'http://127.0.0.1/' works well.

Are there any guides/resources I could follow to check on my firewall or anti-virus? At the moment:

localhost works
"http:// 127.0.0.1 /" (without spaces or quotes) does not work

I assume you have cleared the browser cache by doing a CTRL+F5

Yes, I've done that. Still a "forbidden" error when I try to go to 127.0.0.1. Only localhost works.

Hi,

What is the contents of C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file ?

Is 'http://[::1]/' also forbidden?

So my hosts file has this added to the bottom:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 magic815.com
127.0.0.1 magic815.dash

Where magic815.com is a page I have set up to work with Muximux. And magic.dash is a page I have set up to work with NetworkStatusPage. Both are PHP projects that can be found on GitHub.

Also, the [::1] address you mentioned above is also forbidden.

Hi,

> So my hosts file has this added to the bottom:
I did not ask you what was added to the end!
I asked you the file content, so the entire contents.

Already, it should be that:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 magic815.com
127.0.0.1 magic815.dash

::1 localhost
::1 magic815.com
::1 magic815.dash
and nothing else.
