Have you checked the Windows Event Viewer for mesages from MYSQL.
If MYSQL has a problem before it get to opening its own error log it writes errors to the System log.
Open the Event Viewer ( eventvwr.exe )
Click on
Windows Logs on the left side of the screen
Click on the
Application submenu
And look for errors from a
