WampServer

Hello,

Last weekend, the MySQL service wouldn't start. I was in a pinch so uninstalled Wamp completely and reinstalled it. This made the problem go away until this morning.

The systemtray icon is orange and when I click on it, go to MySQL and then Service, the item that says 'Start/Resume service' is clickable. Nothing happens when I click this, though.

When I attempted to open the MySQL logfile, I was notified that the file did not exist.

Please note that everything I've described above happened exactly the same before I reinstalled Wamp as well.

Below is some additional information about my setup. Thank you inadvance for any assistance!

- Operating system: Win 8 x64
- Wamp Server version: 2.5
- Apache version: 2.4.9
- MySQL version: 5.6.17
- PHP version: 5.5.12
Default host file and all ports used by Wamp services are clear.

Have you checked the Windows Event Viewer for mesages from MYSQL.

If MYSQL has a problem before it get to opening its own error log it writes errors to the System log.

Open the Event Viewer ( eventvwr.exe )
Click on Windows Logs on the left side of the screen
Click on the Application submenu

And look for errors from a Source of MYSQL
