Wampserver quit working and I'm getting this error message. It was working fine for quite a while, but I had another problem that required a system restore and now Wampserver doesn't work.

Windows 8.1 64-bit
Wampserver 2.5 64-bit
Apache version 2.4.9
PHP version 5.5.12
MySQL version 5.6.17

WampManager is orange

Hosts file: 127.0.0.1 localhost

Need help. I have teamviewer if that helps.

Check that both the wampapache and wampmysql services are still registered.

If not you can re-register them using

wampmanager -> Apache -> Service -> Install Service
or
wampmanager -> MySQL -> Service -> Install Service

They are both listed in the wampmanager. MySQL has a Srat Service link and Apache has a Restart service link. Apache is running. My problem seems to be with MySQL.

Have you got another MySQL server running other than the one that comes with WAMPServer?

When I go to task manager > services there is no MySQL running at all.

WampServer calls its MySQL service 'wampmysqld' or 'wampmysqld64' if you have the 64bit wamp.

If there is no service called wampmysqld shown in the services snapin then the

wampmanager -> MySQL -> Service -> Install Service

should reregister the service and allow you to start it.

If there is a service called 'wampmysqld' but it wont start then look at the mysql error log to see if that tells you why it did not start

or if that is no help look at the 'Windows Event Viewer' and look for messages from MYSQL which should give you an idea why its failing to start.

Okay, I see wampmysqld64 stopped. And wampapache64 running. I shutdown my computer and restarted it and have not started Wampmanager. Should those services be in there even though Wampmanager is not running?

Yes the services should be registered and therefore will appear in the Services list at all times.

They should be in a stopped state until you start WAMPServer, and that should start them both.

If it does not you can use the

wampmanage -> Start all Services

Or

wampmanager -> Apache -> Service - Start/Resume service
wampmanager -> MySQL -> Service - Start/Resume service

I started WAMPserver and the icon only went to orange. MySQL is not running so I did wampmanager -> MySQL -> Service - Start/Resume service and it will not start.

Ok so now look in the mysql error log.

If that is no help then look in the 'Windows Event Viewer' for messahes from MySQL. They are normally quite descriptive and obvious.

If you cannot work out why, then post them here.

There is no mysql error log.

In the Event Viewer I see this error today

InnoDB: Attempted to open a previously opened tablespace. Previous tablespace mysql/innodb_index_stats uses space ID: 2 at filepath: .\mysql\innodb_index_stats.ibd. Cannot open tablespace woodruff_wp/wp_mappress_posts which uses space ID: 2 at filepath: .\woodruff_wp\wp_mappress_posts.ibd

And another error back on the 5th

InnoDB: Could not find a valid tablespace file for 'woodruff_wp/wp_mappress_maps'. See [dev.mysql.com] for how to resolve the issue.

You have somehow managed to corrupt that database 'woodruff_wp'

If it is actually important then you should read through and understand the linked MySQL documentation [dev.mysql.com]

Also this [dev.mysql.com] as well probably

If it is not important, is there an easier solution?

INNODB is not a trivial database format. If you dont understand it, its best not to use it.

I have no idea how you caused this situation so I have no idea what to do about it, sorry.

This might help [dba.stackexchange.com]

Are you saying I did something to trigger use of innodb versus something else? I think I just installed WAMP and started using it.

If this was a fresh install where did 'woodruff_wp' database come from

No, I mean when I did install it, I did not intentionally do anything to select innodb over another option. I installed it several months ago and have quite a few databases. I could delete the woodruff_wp database and be okay, but I don't want to lose everything else.

Do you have backups of all the databases, or all the other databases?

Not specifically as backups, but it is all on my computer, so I could copy the whole WAMP directory.
