wamp as a production installation

Hi to all - The documentation and general information about wampserver seem to indicate that it should be used primarily as a development installation rather than on production systems. Is there a specific reason for this? like maybe apache/mysql/php may have been compiled with options that may make it not quite suitable for production use?

Anyone has the thumbs up on this?

I would like to know too ... can this thing be used as a production installation?

I read somewhere, probably in the installation guide or on WAMP's website, that this is all down to some security aspects which should be addressed prior to letting the package off the leash and going to full production.

Can't remember where the information was or what the solution is, so I can't be of more help. Hopefully someone else will know what security aspects should be looked at.

I would only use it for development - but that's just my opinion.
