Program Apache HTTP Server was shut down due to this error.

- If the file is on a removable disk such as a floppy disk or CD-ROM, you should check whether this disc is properly inserted into the drive.
3. Check and repair the file with CHKDSK. Click on Start, Run and type CMD. Click OK and type CHKDSK / F at the command prompt. then press ENTER.
4. If the problem persists, you must restore the file from a backup medium.

Fix

Using the wampmanager menus do

Right Click wampmanager -> Apache -> Version -> 2.4.9 ( Click on the 2.4.9 menu item)

Wait for Apache to be restarted.

The SYMLINKS will have been rebuilt correctly

other pages that use mysqli also give error messages.

WAMP icon is green, but very slow.

The wheel in the browser keeps on turning and i can only see the root directory no connection to other pages, the index.php.

Also, it took quite long before the icon turned green.

Hi,

- Given all the changes you made early on, and despite all logic,
- Given all the errors you constantly have and it seems impossible to correct without creating other errors,
- Given that with all the messages you have written, full of error messages,
- Since I come to a point where I am completely lost in the thread of your messages,
I think the best solution is to start from scratch.
So :
- Backup your local sites if you have
- Export your database in SQL files if you have
- Uninstall Wampserver
- Delete the install folder
- Verify that the two services wampapache and wampmysqld (or wampapache64 and wampmysqld64 for 64 bit version) does not exist anymore
If service still exist suppress it by a command line : sc delete servicename

- 1 - Verify if all needed VC++ packages are correctly installed.
For that use the tool Checks VC++ packages installed
If the response is not "All VC++ packages needed to Wampserver seem to be installed correctly", you have to install needed packages you can foun here [wampserver.aviatechno.net] in the section Visual C++ Redistribuable Packages
- 2 - Verify that Skype does not use port 80
Point n°03 of TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
- 3 - Verify that IIS is uninstalled
Point n°08 of TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
- 4 - Install Wampserver 3.0.4 you can dowload here: [wampserver.aviatechno.net]

yeah well I have to follow the recommendations from here.

Personally it is very frustrating because due to hacking I have to reinstall again.

I know it is a bit off topic on this forum, but hacking and malware is a big issue.

My experience after a year of programming and lurking at php sites is that it seems that you get more easily infected by a virus.

Maybe their servers are more proned to be under attack, maybe some people are causing these problems aware.

Normal anti-virus doesnt work enough. I'm thinking about installing a special recovery card so that you have a clean start up every time you reboot.

I recently installed a mailserver called ToolHeap and since then the problems started I found an alternative but still its slowing down things and causes a lot of extra work. But I'm not sure wheter it is this ToolHeap software it could also be something else.

What kind of arrangements do you take to secure your wamp installation?

Hi,

> What kind of arrangements do you take to secure your wamp installation?
I often say the same things, but Wampserver is designed to be a local development server.
Open a server to the outside world should be performed by specialists aware of security issues and blocking access.
This is why with Wampserver 3, Option Online / Offline is no longer accessible directly. This is to prevent neophytes open their server (and at the same time their PC) to the world, with a single click.

I'm not a specialist in Internet security, but some basic rules apply.
- We do not touch the prohibitions in httpd.conf
- The VirtualHost must imperatively be used.
- The VirtualHost localhost should always be "Require local".
- Only the VirtualHost can be accessed from outside can have a "Require all Granted"
- On an intranet must be limited permissions to network IP range.
- A password must be assigned to root MySQL.
- VirtualHost for authorized external access, site configuration files must be in a folder with a .htaccess file with Require all denied
- ihe scripts to perform tests must also be in a folder with a .htaccess file with "Local Require" and whether those test files should be used in a hosting it allows access to your IP by
<RequireAny>
Require local
Require my_ip
</RequireAny>
They are easy rules to implement.

On my router, the port forwarding rules are activated only when I have to perform tests from the outside.

- network administrator is a profession.
- CIO is a job.
- hosting claim skills.

This is not because Wampserver makes it all that anyone can do it without risk.

And finally, I recall that the best anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-hacking, anti-phishing, is the interface between the chair and the keyboard.

I used the check_vcredist.exe to check which packages are needed, but I couldnt execute one which is needed.
filename: Vcredit_2008_sp1_atl_x64.exe
error message: error opening installation log file.

I downloaded from both the microsoft site as well as from the repository site here.

Hi,

It was experimental before PHP 7.0.0 was released.
The true support of 64 bit is only done with PHP 7.0.x with Windows 64 bit.

Can you post here the content of the test result of check_vcredist.exe that I look if there was not an alternative.
Having only one installation of Windows 7 and Windows 10 and 64 bit only, it is difficult for me to test all possibilities of not installing VC packages.

VC 2008 is VC9 and I think you can continue to install WampServer.

Ok. I have wamp icon green, but there are still some problems.

the start up index page gives an error message

*** ERROR *** The PHP configuration loaded file is: - should be: H:/wamp/bin/apache/apache2.4.18/bin/php.ini or h:/wamp/bin/php/php5.6.19/phpforapache.ini

Clicking to php myadmin gives an error message like this:

phpMyAdmin - Error / The mbstring extension is missing. Please check your PHP configuration.

Then accessing some pages containing mysqli/databse php code give:

Fatal error: Class 'mysqli' not found in H:\wamp\www\mypage.php

..................................................

Another error I'm having is that I have not been able to open the menu since this install
