I don't understand the link to update Microsoft Visual C++.

you mean installing php7 and make wampserver work with it? Or do you mean getting the php7 addon for wamp?

Hi,

The PHP 7.0.0 (or 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.0.3, 7.0.4, 7.0.5) addon is for Wampserver 3. There is no addon for Wampserver 2.5.

If you are not sure you have installed all VC packages, install ALL packages VC ++ as is mentioned in item No. 20 of TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS.

If you have installed them, for PHP 7.0.1 and newer, you must install update 1 of VC14, as mentionned in the install process :

PHP 7.0.1 and newer is build with Visual Studio® 2015 Update 1 (VC14)
Before to install this addon, be sure you have installed the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 Update 1. If not, running PHP 7.0.1 will cause system errors and it may even crash your system.

Download and install, if you not have it already, from:
The two files vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe to be download are on the same page.
If you have a 64-bit Windows, you must install both 32 and 64bit versions, even if you do not use Wampserver 64 bit.

Not 14 ; 10 for Windows 64 bit and 5 for Windows 32 bit.
Ask Microsoft about that.

The time you spent thinking about and ask the question, could have been used to install the VC packages.

ok. I installed all vc versions. Now I'm stuck on the install of the PHP7.05 for wamp.

I get this error:

while wamp is clearly installed on c:/wamp

how to check where wamp think its installed. In all the config files it points to c:wamp/

Hi,

Are all these files in c:\wamp\ ?
wampmanager.conf
wampmanager.exe
wampmanager.ini
wampmanager.tpl

Did you launch the installer "as an administrator" ?

yes, those files are there.

And when installing I had to enter the admin password. Or maybe I need to login to windows as admin, could that possibly make a difference?

Ouch! I get the exact same message when via admin.

In wampmanager.conf:
installDir = "c:/wamp"

I'm sure I'm in the right directory.

I got my site-root and databases in another directory, could that have anything to do with this?

We're getting a bit off topic, so I created a new thread:
