WampServer

Hi all,

I am using WampServer Version 3.0.0 64bit and I would like to install Maria DB still keeping mysql on (I know that I will be able to use just one for session.

Is there a guide to install and configure it on Wamp?

Hi,

Wampserver 3.0.7 will have MariaDB support on port 3307 in addition to MySQL.
There will also be an installer for MariaDB 10.1.19

Hi,

MariaDB more powerful than MySQL? On the resource side, maybe, I have not yet made any comparisons, but on the place occupied on disk, MariaDB is more invasive than MySQL.

MariaDB 10.1.20 (32 bit) 1,9 GB on disk with 1 GB for the file mysqlserver.lib

MySQL 5.7.17 (32 bit) 1.7 GB on disk with 986 Mio for the file mysqlserver.lib

Note: Wampserser update 3.0.8 will allow:
- MySQL and MariaDB cohabitation
- MySQL only
- MariaDB only
- No database manager ; only Apache and PHP
