I am trying to import the database that I exported from one computer to another using provate Ip adress using phpMyAdmin. I browse for the .sql file that the export created and click GO. I tried leaving SQL compatibility mode as NONE.
Upon Importing to another database:

I am getting error:

#1008 - No Drop Database.
" "Database doesnot found"

Windows 7
both computers WAMP ver. 2.1

Hi Saeedali

Does the database exist on the system being restored?

Hey Riggs! Thanx for helping me out,I am not able to import the database on another computer.

What I did " the inventory database is in one system and when I tried to export the database and tables in local host phpmyadmin ,the file is saved with ".sql" extention and I moved the file to another system.
.

The Other System also has the same wamp server 2.1 and on Localhost phpmyadmin when I tried to Import.

It gives me Error No:
1008 " No Drop Database".No Database exist with .Sql
and then
error 1046 No Database exist

saeed,

Can I just be clear here:

So you go to your LIVE system and using the phpmyadmin on that system you do an Export, in sql format. This creates a file on the LIVE system and you copy that file to your TEST system.

You then use phpmyadmin on the TEST system and try to Import that file.

Both systems have the same version of WAMPServer running.

Can you paste the first 20 or so lines of the file you are trying to restore please.

Nothing private, or you can send me a Private Message if you dont want the world to see the contents.

Hi Riggs!

I have done the same thing as you said like exporting sql file and creating a file on the LIVE system and copied that file into the TEST system.

Both systems have the same version of WAMPServer running!.

I'll email you private shortly.

You can use the 'Private Message' feature to send me an email. Look on the menus above the post entry section at the bottom of this page.

Or just click on my name in any 'Posted by:' line on a post, and you will see a page with 'Send a PM' link on it.
