When I open phpMyAdmin in WAMP I get a message, " newer version of phpMyAdmin is available and you should consider upgrading. The newest version is 4.1.6, released on 2014-01-26." The version I have now is 5.4.3. How do I upgrade and when I do will I lose my database that I have already made?

Dont bother unless you have a need i.e. the version you have does not do something you need.

Hi Joanne,
Your database is NOT in phpMyadmin, that's just a GUI for access to your data.
IN Wampserver2.4 the data is in C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.6.12\data.

phpMyAdmin is in C:\wamp\apps\phpmyadmin4.0.4

You can update it if you want without losing data, but as RiggsFolly says.. why bother ?
