Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

I made every change as instructed in the thread for after installation. I have spent HOURS trying to find out why I can't log into phpMyAdmin. Nothing from any of the other threads or forums I've found has resolved the issue. Please help.

As per the MySQL documentation ....

When MySQL is initially installed it has one Super User account setup by default.
The userid is = 'root' and it comes without a password.

So to login to phpmyadmin with all the rights and permission in he world use

Username = root
Password = (leave this blank )

Thank you for your quick response. I tried that, and it did not work. I've decided to uninstall WAMP and install the each application separately.

Good luck with that. If you cannot solve this situation on wamp, you are going to need it.

Of course if you tried that idea before and did not uninstall it all, it could be that you have more than one MySQL running and the other one gets loaded before the WAMP version.
