WAMP 2.4 32bit(I have tried 64bit aswell and still the same problems)
Apache 2.4.4
MySQL 5.6.12
PHP 5.4.16
WAMPMANAGER icon is green
host file shows:

# space.

::1 localhost

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost

Hello,
This is my first time posting here aswell as using WAMP.
I'm having a bit of trouble getting started with it. WAMP is installed and running, the problem comes when I left click the icon and click localhost or any of the other pages. It starts up the page but it just keeps loading. I've tried 127.0.0.1 and the same happens. When I go to Apache->Service->Test port 80 it does not list anything, but isn't apache using port 80? or is it omitting itself? I would really like to get this working, it would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me.

Thank you,
Tyler

Hi Tyler,

No the Test Port 80 tool should show something like

Your port 80 is actually used by :

Server: Apache/2.2.26 (Win32) PHP/5.3.22

If wamp is running and the icon is green. So if thats the case something is wrong.

Have you tried installing Apache etc in some other way before trying WampServer?

Localhost, phpmyadmin and mysql console not working

I installed
Wampserver2.4 – x64 with
apache 2.4.4,
mysql 5.6.12,
PHPmyadmin 4.0.4,
Sqlbuddy 1.3.3,
Xdeburg 2.2.2 on
Windows 7 Ultimate OS 64 bit.
After starting the server the icon turned green alright.
i. When I click on Localhost and PhpMyadmin on the Wampserver menu it gave me the error message “Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at localhost”
ii. By default the server has not password, but when I open the MySQL console and press enter, it goes off.
How do I resolve these issues?

Hi timothy,

Have you checked that your hosts file 'C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts'

contains at least

127.0.0.1 localhost
::1   localhost

Yeah it doesn't look like that. And I'm pretty sure I haven't installed apache or any of them as a standalone before. But to check that should I go through my programs and see if one of them is there?

I do have Microsoft SQL Server stuff installed. Could that be causing the problem?

Sqlserver may be causing a problem but if it was using port 80 that should show in the 'test port 80' output.

Install TeamViewer and I will troubleshoot for you.

Install TV, then run it.

Do this before attempting a connection.

How to Configure Team Viewer so it does not require port 80 or 443

Run TV
Extras -> Options -> Advanced -> Press the Advanced Button -> Advanced Network Connections

Check the checkbox saying [ Dont use incomming port 80 (recommended for web servers only ) ]
Stop and restart TV.

Then
Send me a Private Message containing the TV ID and PASSWORD so I can connect.
Leave TV running as it will change the password each time you restart it.

I am on UK time (GMT) and am normally available 09:00 - 16:00 and normally later into the evening.
