WampServer

Hi. I am a new user and just downloaded wamp for the first time.

When I type root in to my phpmyadmin page it brings an error message:

This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.

Can anyone help as I have no idea what to do!
