MariaDB with WAMPServer

Is there any way to install MariaDB manually (by hand) in to WAMPServer 2.5 32bits, with Apache2.4.18 | php5.6.18 | php5.5.32 | php7.0.3 | MySQL5.6.28?

Just a “YES” for an answer… that's quite cool!
Can't you just be more polite in your answer and say: “yes, you can” and then say how to do so properly, or give and url where the instructions are? Isn't this a forum to help configuring WAMPServer?

Hi,

Certainly yes, but ... Wampserver is Apache, PHP and MySQL and NOT MariaDB in any way.
If you want to install "tricks" or "widgets" that are not part of Wampserver is solely YOUR responsibility.

You have not even done a simple search, be it as: "Getting, Installing, and Upgrading MariaDB" [mariadb.com]

As for RiggsFolly, he was very polite, he answered your question.

Now, if our answers do not like you, you can always go elsewhere, eg XAMPP: Apache + PHP + Perl + MariaDB

Hi,

We, thats Otomatic and I, have already given you a vast amout of OFF-TOPIC assistance configuring your WAMPServer

WAMPServer can be considered as 2 things

1. A tool for developers that know Apache/MySQL/PHP and who want to develop in those environments on Windows and to deploy their work to any other environment.

2. A learning tool for someone that wants to learn about Apache/MySQL/PHP.

I think you are in the second group.

It is the function of this forum to help people get WAMPServer running if they have problems with it after an initial install.

Once it is running it is then up to that individual to do just that, LEARN Apache/MySQL/PHP

It is not the function of this site to TEACH individuals Apache/MySQL/PHP or any other technology that they may wish to addon to WAMPServer.

So the answer to your question is YES.
YOU can install MariaDB, and YOU can then write PHP code that will interface to MariaDB, just like it interfaces with MySQL.

However it is not the function of this forum, or the few people that help out on this forum to do it for you.
If and when you get it working, you could make a post telling others how you did it, that would be greatfully received.

PLEASE REMEMBER THE HUGH AMOUNT OF MONEY that you paid for WAMPServer, and the amount of help you have already received from us for free, on subjects that fall outside our basic remit.

Just in case you are confused, we, the few people who help out on this forum are not paid for our services, we do it for FREE.

If I or Otomatic (the few helpers on this site) had at some point done an integration of MariaDB into WAMPServer we would have created a HOWTO for our own benefit, so we could remember what was done and in what order.

If we had such a document describing how to integrate MariaDB, we would have provided it to you again free of charge.

However, we are not going to DO IT FOR YOU unless we too have a need for using MariaDB.

I look forward to seeing you post a document detailing how you integrated MariaDB
