Apache access log and error log updated every 10 mins even when WAMP not started.

Hi,
WAMP (v2.2) is successfully running on my Win Vista machine. I've loaded Moodle and Joomla installations, used them, then removed the Moodle installation. I sometimes go months without using WAMP.

Today, I noticed the Apache access.log and error.log files and had a look. They are being written to every ten minutes by the WAMP server and the files are 12MB and 6MB. This processes must be slowing the PC down, and are not needed (as far as I know).

a) Why are the processes running when I'm not using WAMP?
b) How do I stop the processes from running?

I've had a good look around the forums and done Google searches but can't see any help. Can anyone answer these questions? Thanks very much in advance! Any comments are much appreciated.

Kind regards, Cyberglot.

Look at your Services ( Start -> search and keyin Services )

Look for the services wampapache and wampmysql and then change their properties to Start type = Manual
