WampServer

I just restored my machine that runs on 64 bits, I then installed wamp again and the app remained red on the task bar, and even when I launched the browser, localhost appeared but showed an error. So please what can I do?? Any information will be highly welcome. Thanks in advance

Please make sure you have the latest version of all of these Microsoft C++ Redistributable runtime libraries.

The 2008 Redist is used by wampmanager
The 2010 Redist is used by some versions of Apache ( depending on compiler used )
The 2012 Redist is used by some versions of Apache ( depending on compiler used )

FOR WAMP 32bit
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) [www.microsoft.com]
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) [www.microsoft.com]

If you are using WampServer 2.4
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 [www.microsoft.com]
And select vcredist_x86.exe

Yes you need the x86 Package regardless

After the download, I am told to request for another version, both for 64 bits and 32 bits. I equally downloaded Wamp 2.4 which appears to run well , but it is requesting a password, which I really have no idea about. So I can only work on php for now. please is there something I can do??

Do you mean a password to run phpMyAdmin?

I have a 64bits machine, and a win8 OS, the password is being requested upon creating a database. Hope it is helpful

when I bypass it by simply clicking on go, I am unable to create a database as it says I do not have privileges. I have snapped it and I can send it to you, but it seems like I can't attach here!

Theer is s predefined Userid on all mew MySQL installs


Username = root
Password = blank ( do not enter anything )

it writes this

#1045 Cannot log in to the MySQL server

when I use root as username and nothing for password
but when I use localhost as username I go through, but the create database text box isn't there

I have installed team viewer if you are there you can try it out via VPN

Ok lets try a Team Viewer session!!!

Do this before attempting a connection.

How to Configure Team Viewer so it does not require port 80 or 443

Run TV
Extras -> Options -> Advanced -> Press the Advanced Button -> Advanced Network Connections

Check the checkbox saying [ Dont use incomming port 80 (recommended for web servers only ) ]
Stop and restart TV.

Then
Send me a Private Message containing the TV ID and PASSWORD so I can connect.
Leave TV running as it will change the password each time you restart it.

I am on UK time (GMT) and am normally available 09:00 - 16:00 and normally later into the evening.

I have done just so, and there is no option to change my port, I even ran wamp and both are runnig. Do you think the port issue has been taken into consideration??
