Hi I have just left a message on pampserver and am unsure if it is live... there seems to be many spam posts on there and as you have not deleted them I was wondering if you actually maintain the site...

its most likely the hosts file

in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

delete EVERYTHING in the file and just add 1 new line
127.0.0.1 localhost

Ha sussed it thanks, Whoo hoo it works.

My config inc was directing the page to localhost, not 127.0.0.1
Thanks again for your very prompt attention to this problem..

Say to people delete all and just put one line can hurt if the people don't know what they are doing.
Also, pointing the mysql connections to 127.0.0.1 loopback IP is better and quicker than use the localhost redirect, even if it's necessary or used by any other program.

MySQL slow connection from localhost is a know issue.

Regards.
