WampServer

After upgrading to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8, Wamp 2.4 (64 bit) is showing Orange icon. MySQL service is running while Apache 5.6.12 Service is not running.

I tried to Install Service after trying Remove Service but the command window shows "Cannot install Apache Service, please stop this application and try again."

When I try to restart Apache Service through 'Apache Service Monitor' a window comes "Error : Request operation has failed". Apache Error Log and Access Log is not even created.


Also, my PC is a standalone machine.

Try checking that the Apache and MySQL services are still registered as services.

Look in Windows Services for services called - 'wampapache' and wampmysql'

If they dont exist do the following:-

wampmanager -> MySQL -> Service -> Install Service
wampmanager -> Apache -> Service -> Install Service

Then try to restart all services.

It apppears that the upgrade of windows is a bit more than just an upgrade and scraps existing services it does not know about.
