New User - Problem with Hello.php - got "Hello, world!'; ?>"

I have just started to work with WAMP.

I did the download and the install which appeared to work properly.

I did a “Start all Services” which appeared to work.

I then selected the WWW Directory and within this folder I selected the sample member named Hello.php

Unfortunately, what I then see on the screen is this.

Hello, world!'; ?>

I have tried Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. All three give me the same result.

I must have missed something, but because this is all new to me, I am not sure where to look.

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Sincerely,

Brad

Never mind...

I finally figured out what I was doing wrong.

The concept of the "localhost" is new to me and I was simply opening the .php file directly from the folder.

Boy do I feel stupid !!!
