I have been using Xitami webserver on an old XP machine for years to test sites that have perl scripts and data server-side.... it does not seem to be available anywhere anymore, so I am looking for a local webserver I can run on my new Windows7 laptop for testing. I need to be able to install and run server-side perl scripts....

will WAMP do this? which version?

I don't understand why there are php and apache versions, or which I need....

ok, I picked the apache 2.2 version in 32-bit since that is what me 'real' remote server runs.... the WAMP installed fine, and I think all I have to do is copy my test sites into the www folder under c:\wamp

now I need to install Perl and appropriate optional libraries I used in some of the sites. In the past I got a copy of perl binaries pre-compiled to run on my old XP laptop. All that site has seemed to have gone by the wayside. If anyone knows of a place to download pre-compiled Perl libraries, let me know!

Also, after I find and install perl, is there anything in particular I need to do to configure WAMP to 'see' perl, which is usually installed in c:\usr ?
