Wamp 2.4 on W7 not connecting to localhost

I just installed from Wampserver2.4-x64.exe on a W7 machine. When the install asked for the browser, I pointed it to firefox.exe. Install completed and I show wampmanager.exe *32 running.

When I enter "localhost" in firefox, nothing happens. When I double click the wamp icon on the desktiop, I don't get any kind of control to see if localhost is there or to access the server. Left click does nothing and right-click is the regular windows menu to start and nothing happens when chosen.

What needs to be done for me to successfully connect to the localhost?

Is there a icon in the system tray, that when you hover the pointer over it says WampServer?

Yes. hovering tells me "wamp servier offline." Tried choosing online, failed. Tried starting all services, no change.

When I go to localhost from it, same result. I saw a 'test port 80." When I tried, said it might be skype, and I use skype. Is that what's blocking it and, if so, where's the config to change the port?

How to Configure SKYPE so it does not require port 80 or 443

Run SKYPE
then using the menus do this:

Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Connection

Un-Check the checkbox next to 'Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incomming connections'

Now restart SKYPE for these changes to take effect.

Thanks
