WampServer

I have tried installing server versions of the Wamp Server. My computer is 64-bit with Windows 7.

I have tried Wampserve2.4 -86x, 2.4 -x64, & 2.2e-php5.4.3-httpd-2.4.2-mysql5.5.24 -x64

On all of them I have been able to connect to the localhost but not the phpMyAdmin. I continue to receive the error message below:

MySQL said:

#2002 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).


I would greatly appreciate any assistance to resolve this issue. Please know that I am not a programmer so maybe keep it simple for me.

Have you tried instakking MySQL some other way? If so you probably have a my.ini file somewhere that is causing a problem.

Even if you have not tried installing MySQL another way, do a search for my.ini and/or my.cnf. If you find any in a folder OUTSIDE of the c:\wamp structure, then delete them.
