Hello,

I am a novice to wordpress even more to WAMP so I need some help with an issue I can't seem to find an answer for.

I've installed WAMP in Windows 7 and I get an orange icon in the bottom right part of the screen. When I click on 'PUT ONLINE', I get thie message...

Could Not Execute Menu Item (internal error) Exception Could not perform service action

I can'T access phpMyAdmin so I'm stuck here and cannot move forward.

Thanks for your help in advance!

If the icon is orange then Apache has not started, thats also why 'Put Online' gives that error. 'Put Online' is not required for nomal access by the way.

The issue is normally because some other process has grabbed port 80 before you start Apache.

left click wampmanager->Apache->Service->Test port 80

This will load a command window and report what is using port 80.

Whatever it is should be re-configured to not use port 80 or uninstalled or disabled.

Report back what is using port 80 and we will make a suggestion.

I have the same problem as the original user (orange icon and the same error message) but when i test it, it writes that port 80 is not used. Any advise, please?

EDIT: I forgot to restart all services- now it's working

After clicking the test port 80:

Your port 80 is actually used by:

Server: Microsoft-HTTPAPI/2.0

If Microsoft-httpapi/2.0 is using port 80 then
open services and disable web deployment agent service

then it will work.
