Hello everyone :-)

I have installed wamp on windows 7 but my wmp icon doesnot go green due to which i am not able to work with wordpress on wamp.

When i installed wamp it was installed without any errors.
i have searched a lot and done almost every possible thing i can:

1. No other software is using port 80, i have checked it from wamp->apache->service->testing port.
Its shows that your port 80 is used by:
Apache/2.2.22<win32> Php 5.3.13

2. Made the necessary changes in config.php also such as:
database name,username,password.

3. Tried configuring host file also.

4. whenever i try to install wordpress on wamp it says:

ERROR ESTABLISHING CONNECTION WITH DATABASE.

may be it is because wamp remains orange even after restaring all services or stoping and then installing all services.

what could be the other possible solution to this problem?

M really fed up with it...wasted many hours searching everywhere for solution but all in vain.

I will Really Appreciate if someone could help me out with solution..

Thanks!

Sounds like the MySQL service has not started.

Look in the windows event log for messages from MySQL or in the mysql error log ( via wampmanager -> MySQL -> MySQL log

Usually this is because there is another my.ini somewhere on your system.

Search C:\ for my.ini and my.cnf.
If you find any that are NOT IN THE WAMP FOLDER or below it, delete them. Then see if you can start mysql.
