Trying to run php file from wamp5/www directory

I am new at PHP. I have successfully installed WAMP5 Version 1.6.0. I can run a php extended file using localhost in a browser or off my remote webhosting. I cannot get the file named test.php running from the wamp5/www directory. I believe the extension link is wrong. If anyone knows what I need to do to run php files using IE from a local directory I would be very appreciative if you could reply to my request.

I dont think you can run a php document just by opening it up in a browser. It has to be through [localhost]
