WampServer

I am a new user of WAMP and jst finished install on Windows 2008 R2 and am receiving this error. I saw a couple of other posts like this but the solution did not seem to be posted and required some intervention.

I have made sure that the IIS role was completely removed from the server and there are no other roles for this server at this time. The specific error details are as follows:

i have a tool i can debug this error with , but i am not licensed to share it. - i can use it through teamviewer if you canot fix this error.

I have just installed the 2.1d-x64 on my Windows 2008 R2 Standard server, and have gotten this error.

In addition, prior to the error in the Application Event Log is an error stating the follwoing:

'Activation context generation failed for "C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.4\php-win.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.CRT,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.21022.8" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

The Application Event Log Source is "SideBySide", event ID 33.

Just as a recap for my setup: No Roles or Features are installed. It is a fresh setup of the OS, plus all the current Windows Updates.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As a follow-up, I resolved this issue by installing the Visual C++ 2008 SP1x64 Redistributable package on my Server 2008 R2 box.

Just do a google search for vcredist_x64.exe or Visual C++ 2008 x64 SP1, and you'll be set.

that is right after installing c++ extension

it is working but only with wampserver2.1e (*86) version...

do not try 2.1d

I had similar kind of problem in xp . I figured it out the solution myself. you will get that error message if your operation system is not compatible with the WampServer2.2a-x32 executable file.


I tried to solve it by removing Skype but unable to solve.

In order to make it compatible with WampServer2.2a-x32 executable , you have to update your operating system from the net.


after completion of update of your operating system . type "[localhost"]; in your IE browser , it should show nothing. If bing or other search engine display upon typing "[localhost"]; in your IE browser, then remove the bing search from IE.

then install the WampServer2.2a-x32 executable file . And browse the wamp application happily.

I'm installing a fresh copy of Windows Server 2008. Be sure to install Visual C++ 2008 SP1 either x86 or x64 (without SP1 didnt work for me)
