WampServer

So I download everything, but when I go to turn on all services nothing happens. The icon just stays red and localhost doesn't work. Can anyone help me out here? Dumb it down for me too, very new to all this stuff.

wampmanager = RED = Apache service AND MySQL service cannot start
wampmanager = ORANGE = Apache service OR MySQL service cannot start
wampmanager = GREEN = Apache AND MySQL services have started


As yours is red both services have failed to start.

Lets start with Apache, Can you look in the apache error log using wampmanager->Apache->Apache error log
If that is empty then try looking in the Windows Event log
Start->Control Panel->Adminstrative Tools->Event Viewer

Give it some time to read all the logs and then click on Windows Logs -> Applications in the left hand menu

Look down the source column for 'Apache' and 'MySQL'


If the reports dont mean anything to you post some of them here and we will make suggestions

I'm not sure how I corrected it but I turned off my computer and turned it back on and it's making a connection. I had uninstalled xampp and then installed wamp...so i'm not sure if ports were still in use by xamp or what. But it's working now. Thanks.
