WampServer

I edited my host file and checked permissions on the folder and I still cannot get wamp to work for me. I am taking a php class and need to get wamp working soon. Wamp starts out pink for a few seconds then changes to orange. Please help! My Host file is below:

Windows 8 has IIS on by default. Go into Activate or deactivate Windows Characteristics and disable it, that should free port 80.

1. I had IIS off by default (I enabled it, then and disabled it).

2. I went to httpd.conf and changed every instance of
# Deny from all tgg to
allow from all

3. I went to the host file and uncommented:
127.0.0.1 localhost

4. I went to the wampmanager.ini file and changed every instance of "[localhost];
to "[localhost];

5. I ensured that the directory privileges were correct for the wamp directory.


6. I ran with the firewall off, and Wamp is still orange


What else can I do? I am taking a college class and am starting to fall behind. Could someone please help?
(I am running Windows 8 Pro).

1. Uninstall wamp.( delete the while folder)

2. Install it again.

3. Send me Teamviewer details.

Thanks! Removing the wamp folder (I remembered to remove the php files and MySQL databases that I needed for my class) fixed my problem. The host file edit above is the only thing that remained the same.

No, It worked with Vista. When I installed Windows 8 it stopped working. Removing the wamp folder before reinstalling seemed to fix it. The old wamp folder must of had some leftover settings from Vista.

Well if you just moved the folder from one computer to another computer, why would you expect it to work?

What about all the installing etc? Wamp doesnt come in a zip folder, it needs an installer...
