WampServer

Hello,
We tried to upgrade the Apache 2.4.12 component in wampserver 2.5 to Apache 2.4.17. We used [forum.wampserver.com] as a guideline. However, the Apache service does not start due to error: Cannot load modules/mod_ssl.so into server. The specified module could not be found.
Before we switched the Apache version, we ran an Apache syntax command which indicated the syntax was OK.

Apache 2.4.17 installed by défault does not load mod_ssl.so. Why ?
Because before loading this module you need to configure conf/extra/httpd-ssl.conf file and include it.

Quit Wampserver

In wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.17\conf\httpd.conf file, comment the line (Put # at the beginning)

#LoadModule ssl_module modules/mod_ssl.so

Thanks. We had originally downloaded wamp 2.5 64 bit and the last post mentions 32 bit. Is there a later 64 bit version that can be downloaded? On www.wampserver.com, it appears you can only download wamp 2.5.
