Wampserver 2.2 with Windows 8 x64

Today I downloaded Wampserver 2.2 64 bit, and it installed correctly and successfully went online with Windows 8.

As a regular user of version 2.0 with Vista I knew I had to move my website files to c:\wamp\www. Then I clicked localhost, clicked an shtml file, but the browser displayed the source html rather than the web page. Clicking an html file displays the webpage correctly. Please tell me what I'm missing.

Brian,

Make sure you have all the Pache and PHP modules selected that you did on your 2.0 verison

You need wampmanager -> Apache -> Apache Modules -> Include_module ticked to use .shtml functions

However, when I checked the Apache modules list the ticked modules are identical to those I used with version 2.0.

I have been reading about removing the # (comment) from the line 127.0.0.1 localhost in the hosts file. Is this a potential solution?
