WAMP cache in computer system WordPress

I had to reinstall WordPress in WAMP casue I did not have the login information. I deleted WAMP and reinstalled it. I still could not configure WordPress.

I think my problem is WAMP and residue that remains in the operating system. I want to use a command prompt and delete all things relatedd to WAMP. I have had this problem before for another computer. The same problem.

I know there is residue because when I go to enter information in the dropdowns it's still available in the drop down menus.

I cleared the cache in my browser, too.

Nothing helps. I even uninstalled iis so I could use the default port of 80 instead of 88

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Peoj

Hi Peoj

Unless your system is very ODD, I doubt it.

WAMPServer's uninstall will remove from the `\wamp\` folder ONLY what it installed. So any files you add, or amend may not be deleted.

I always do an uninstall followed by a manual delete of the `\wamp\` folder and all subfolders.

Of course only after backing up anything I dont want to loose.

WAMPServer only puts one thing in the Registry and that is a reference to its uninstall, and does not contain anything that would upset a fresh install.

thanks I did all you said. Something happens which prevents a 2nd installation of WordPress and WAMP. I did it quite easily the initial time but not the 2nd attempt on two different computers. A real head scratch er.
