WampServer

Just installed the the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x64

followed that with

Wampserver (64 bits & PHP 5.4) 2.2E on a brand new windows 8 install

When I look at the Wampserver icon it is green however when i hover over it i get the message wampserver - server offline.

when i go to [localhost] i get the message

"Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server."

When I hover over both MySQL server and Apache, it says that the services are running

Would anyone know how I can fix this issue?

I'm having the same problem. At first I couldn't see Localhost, but couls after a restart. Can see phpinfo but cannot see phpadmin or web grind. I just get 403 forbidden - You don't have permission to access /phpmyadmin/ on this server.

Windows 8 new install. I have Windows C++ Resdistibutables 2005,2008 and 2010 both 32 and 64 bit versions installed.
