I'm trying to set up WordPress on my local computer. I've installed Wamp but when I go to create new database, it says No Privileges. What does this mean and how do I create a new database called wordpress. I've been using instructions from this how to video [www.youtube.com].

Ok so Apache has not started, the wamp icon shoudl be GREEN if both apache and mysql services have been successfully started.

The usual reason is that some other process has already allocated port 80

run wampmanager -> Apache -> Service -> Test port 80

This should tell you what has allocated port 80.

Whatever it is should be either re-configired to not use port 80 or uninstalled if you are not using it.

If you cannot work out what to do port the result of the abouve and I will make suggestions

when I go to Apache -> Service -> Test port 80, it says: Your port 80 is actually used by:
Server: Apache.

Now what?

Get rid of the Apache service.
Wamps Apache service is called wampapache so that one is not wamps.

You must have tried to install apache some other way and not UNINSTALLED it properly.

try sc remove Apache

from a command window that you 'Run as Administrator'
