cannot start WampServer

Hi Support,

Thank you for this software. It seems very good. I am new to internet programming. I have downloaded and installed version 2.2e on Windows 7. When I click on the WampServer icon nothing happens. The icon does not change colour or I do not get an error message. Nothing happens. Please help/

Sounds like you have php installed already.

Search your PC for php.ini and delete any not in the wamp folders

Hi Steve,

I tried this but with no success .All the PHP.INI files I find are in the Wamp folder. I had Dreamweaver 8 installed on the laptop but removed it before the search. I am using Windows 7 SP1, 64 BIT on a Toshiba laptop. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling WAMP several times with no success. To clarify when I click on the Wamp ICON a message box opens asking me if I want to run this program, so strictly speaking something does happen. But it sits there and does nothing after I click yes to the message

Oh does it not open a icon beside your clock?

Iv no idea. If that is correct , iv never seen it before. No errors when running the exe and no icon with a W in the system tray bar...


You would need to get Teamviewer so I can debug it

Problem Solved,

I was not starting it correctly.

There is an icon in the tray bar after you click on the Wamp Icon. I was expecting an icon in the tray bar when you install Wamp.
