menu php settings not showing

Hello, I just installed the latest 32bit over my existing setup. Because it changes the php.ini file, I went to the task bar menu php and selected php.ini. As usual I added some mail settings that worked in the previous setup but now the menu does not display the php settings.

Instead of a list I am seeing what looks like a half button (I can just barely read - set) on it.

I had stopped all services before I edited the php.ini file, then I restarted all services.

My programs appear to work properly but I cannot check which php settings are enabled.
The icon is green and php version displays 5.3.13, apache 2.2.22, and mysql 5.5.24.

Any suggestions?

did you read the warning on the download page about the new compiler and not to install over?

also by any chance did you have the WampServer Patch installed?

Hello Stevemartin99,

I was using a previous version of 5.3 but because I had the problem I already took measures to uninstall and then installing the new version.

Wampserver patch? Are you talking about the microsoft c++?

Sorry I do not remember the version and I deleted the backup install of that.

The version that I have now is wampserver2.2e-php5.3.13-httpd2.2.22-mysql5.5.24-32b

Yes, I completely uninstalled it, then restarted my system, and then installed the new version along with vcredist_x86.exe.

It is running but it doesn't let me see the php settings listing to enable / disable from the menu.

Additionally a cms that I am using is requesting extension=php_pdo.dll which does not appear to be in the php ext directory.

I have only found 2.

One in apache c:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.22\bin\ and the other in c:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.13\

Could it be that one has not updated the other? I don't know how the program functions internally but....

I fixed the problem but I do not know what is the exact problem.
I have just commented everything that I added into the php.ini file, stopped all services, exited, and then started wamp again. The php settings list now shows.

Question:
When setting:
;pop3_username = myname@mydomain.net
;pop3_password = password
should the parameters be enclosed in double quotes?

Is there any problem that you are aware of regarding fake sendmail for windows Byron Jones?
It was working on the previous version.

Along with your answers, I will try to figure out what is causing this.

Solved!

Oddly enough it appears that I used the wrong slash in adding pear.

c:\wamp\bin\php\Pear this was the problem.

now changed to

c:/wamp/bin/php/Pear

Sorry.

Thanks for a great program.
