After Windows 10 upgrades

When you run a Wamp Server, Apache says...

Your port 80 is actually used by :
Server: Microsoft-IIS/10.0
Cannot install the Apache service, please stop this application and try again.
Press Enter to exit...


How to ensure that port 80 is available again!

1. Open CMD as administrator
2. Type iisreset /stop and press ENTER


That's it, and restart Wamp

Of course if youare not using it, uninstall it.

It is afterall wasting space on disk and afterall you would not leave Apache on a system that was not actually using it. You would consider that a security risk!

Of course, that was the old installation has been uninstalled and installed again, but it even showed that the port is busy! This was the only way to disable Microsoft from this port!

Hi,

As I installed Windows 10 instead of Windows 8.1, maintaining the parameters, I have no problem occupying port 80 by IIS
As far as I can remember, go into Programs and Functionalities, Enable or disable Windows features, uncheck everything that relates to IIS:
- Main Forum WEB Internet Information Services (IIS)
- Internet Information Services (IIS)
Sorry for the bad translation of Items to uncheck, but I have a Windows French and I do not know the exact names of the version in English language.
