WampServer

Hello I'm new user and just discovering WAMP or PHP for that matter. I installed WAMP server in my computer (wampserver2.2e-php5.4.3-httpd2.2.22-mysql5.5.24-x64.exe) and I got no errors in the process. When I open any browser and go to http:\\localhost I get a welcome screen of IIS7 with “Welcome” in all languages. The “W” icon is orange… (or red if I stop all services) tried to restart and still no luck. I’m sure this is a simple fix or a step I missed. Any help will be appreciated.

uninstall IIS - its a mircosoft server that sometimes comes installed.

in control panel >add remove programs> turn on/off features> untick IIS ( Internet Information Services)

As a program, I found three entries starting with IIS:

IIS 7.5 Express
IIS URL Rewrite Module 2
iisnode for iis 7.x (x64) core

I remove the three of them and also untick Internet Information Services as you said (I even rebooted my computer).

I get (on Firefox) “Not Found.. HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.” So I guess the problem is solved? Should I be seing anything diferent?

yes well once you restart wamp, the wamp icon shoulg go green and you should get a wamp page on localhost

something is using port 80?

skype maybe using it?

Hello Steven.... i'm trying WAMP Server on my home computer and I have the same problem where i get:

“Not Found.. HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.”

When browsing [localhost]

I have Internet Information Services disabled... and the WAMP icon is orange. Let me know if you are around and can take a look of this issue. Thanks in advance

More info on this case:

Laptop running Windows7 64-bit... ISP is Cogeco and its on the home network so there should be no port filtering.

Hi all guys! I had the same issue . . . but i messed alooooot with the binaries coping in System32, renaming, making changes in php.ini, enabling/disabling iis7 . . ., configuring 117 Handler Mappings and was somehow able to see localhost page with phpinfo working only . . . HELPPPPPPP MEEEEE :-|
