So ... I went back to config.inc.php and deleted the password and was able to get in, but then I wasn't, then I was (can't remember all that I did or figure out why sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't).

I think what I did was gain access by using [
127.0.0.1], then clicked the square box to get in. Then I went in and changed the password, then went back to config.inc.php and added the password back.
I still had some issues gaining access with localhost, but was able to get there by clicking the square box. I tried again and forced a refresh instead of clicking the square box and everything seems to be working now.
I hope.
Now to go back to my original task and try to get my WordPress install to work!
