Apache says port 80 used by ISS - but ISS not on my machine!

I'm getting the common problem of the orange WAMP icon in the systray and localhost coming up blank.

Running Apache>Service>Test Port 80

gives me "port used by Microsoft-IIS/7.5"

HOWEVER: When I try to run ISS manager or search for any component or service I simply don't have it on my machine. So WHAT's actually happening?

If I don't have IIS and it's not running then how come port 80 is bound to it?

::CONFUSED::

If it says IIS is using - then it is - have no doubt about that

Try disable the. Web deployment service

Yep... hence the ::CONFUSED::

I found this though:

stop and disable the www service
type services.msc from the run command prompt > scroll down to World Wide Publishing service.
or go to control panel > Administrative Tools > Services.msc > World Wide Publishing service.

Seems it's also called "World Wide Publishing services" stopped the service and got green light!
