After installing apache add-on, server doesn't run

Hi!

I installed Wamp with the following items and it worked just fine.

Apache 2.2.21
MySQL 5.5.20
PHP 5.3.10

I then installed the Apache 2.2.9 add-on from wamp's site and switched to using 2.2.9 but the apache server will not start. There are no logs as it never actually starts up. I know that port 80 is free because that's what I was using with 2.2.21. I'm not extremely experienced with this so I'm not reallly sure where to start looking to find out what is wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

the addons are vc6. so you cannot mix vc9 and vc6


you will need to install a php addon too


you can check my site for some newer vc6 addons

That seems strange that the addon downloads from the same site are compiled with a different version... is there a reason for that??

its written clearly on the download page...

WARNING : All the components of the v2.2 WampServer stack have been compiled with VC9 version of Microsoft compiler.
Earlier versions of Wampserver have been made with VC6 version of Microsoft compiler.
So, You can't mix components of 2.2 stack with previous version of Wampserver Stack components.
If you do it you will get an instable Wampserver.


all of the addons are vc6, so if you wanna use them , php and apache must be the same build

Sorry, yeah I understand I missed it and that's my fault. I was just curious as to why that is.

no problem, i just kept building the addons because come people need php5.2 and thats only available in vc6
