Hi there... I'm wondering when we might see updates for:

PHP - WAMP's latest add-on is 5.3.1 while the latest release appears to be 5.4.4
MYSQL - WAMP's latest add-on is 5.1.41 while the latest appears to be 5.5.25
APACHE - WAMP's latest add-on is 2.2.9 while the latest appears to be 2.4.2

Also, when updates are available, how do we update SQLBuddy, phpMyAdmin and webGrind?

Thanks!

WAMPSERVER is an indispensable tool... thank you for GREAT software!

Things have changed.

installed the latest wampserver2.2e because it is VC9 and all the addons are vc6 so they are not compatiable.

Those webtools need to be manually updated.

i may start building addons for these

Steven,

Thank you for a fast answer!

Can you advise re: safely installing wampserver2.2e when a previous version is already installed? What directories and or configuration files do we need to be careful of?

Thanks!

you need to make a copy of the www folder and move it outisde of the wamp directory.

you need to export all your databases into sql format.

if you had made any changes to the php.ini , my.ini or httpd.conf keep a copy of those so you can check which modules/extensions had been enabled.

then you can uninstall. and delete the wamp folder.

then install wampserver2.2e (i recommend 32bit even on a 64bit machine)

then replace your www folder and import your sql file.

Addons would have been continued but once you are using 2.2e you can install 2.2f etc directly on top so no need for addons.

if you get stuck or are unsure, i can take a look with TeamViewer
